Just like in previous Diablo titles, Legendary and Unique items in Diablo 4 provide the largest boosts to your stats and ultimately play a significant role in defining your build. But with Diablo 4 Season 1 coming, there have been many changes comes to obtaining the best gear. So let us show you how to farm Legendary and Unique D4 items in Diablo 4 Season 1 in this article.

Helltides

Helltides were the absolute best way to obtain Legendary gear pre-Season of the Malignant. Although Blizzard has increased the amount of Abberant Cinders required to open the Chest of Mysteries, you can still amass a ton of valuable gear very quickly. The Chest of Mysteries costs 250 Abberant Cinders to open, up from 175. Fortunately, more Abberant Cinders drop to offset the changes.

World Bosses

World Bosses have a good chance to drop decent loot along with a guaranteed ‘Grand Cache’ once per week. This Cache contains Legendary gear. The ‘once per week’ limit is for each boss, so 3 Caches are available every seven days. Remember that the Caches match your level when you defeat the Bosses, so if you get one at Level 35 but don’t open it until you’re Level 50, everything will be under-leveled.

Treasure Goblins

Although you can’t ‘farm’ Treasure Goblins, they are worth hunting now more than ever. In Patch 1.1.1, Treasure Goblins are guaranteed to drop Legendary gear once you’re above Level 35. Pre-patch, they only had a 50% Legendary drop rate. Their spawns are unpredictable, so you can’t increase the likelihood of appearing. Still, they are worth going for when you see them. In addition, they will give you lots of Diablo IV Gold!

Dungeons

In patch 1.1.1, All Dungeons have increased mob density and a guaranteed Legendary drop at the end as long as you’re level 35 or higher. The Legendary is what we’re after, but as there are more enemies, there’s a higher chance that loot spawns overall. The fastest Dungeons to clear are Aldurwood and Blind Burrows, so if you’re speed farming, those are great starting locations. A huge change has also been made to the Butcher. If he spawns and you manage to beat him, you earn a Legendary 100% of the time.

Legion Events

Legion Events are buffed in patch 1.1.1, and a Legendary item is guaranteed as a reward. These events were already decent as the chests dropped a ton of gear and Obols. Thanks to the mob density, Legion Events are worth the visit for the mountain of EXP, and the Legendary gear makes them more valuable than ever.

Tree of Whispers

This is arguably the slowest method to get Legendary gear, but it’s a change of pace and can be fast if easy favors are available. The Caches you get to pick from are random but do offer some control if you’re target farming.

The Purveyor of Curiosities

They are a fantastic way to farm for specific Legendary Aspects. You can get Obols from Legion and World events. Once you have a full stack of Obols, take them to the Purveyor and try your luck. This is an excellent method because you can pick specific gear. If you know what the Aspect can roll on (Gloves, for example), you can choose the cheapest item from the Vendor and keep your fingers crossed.
